On October 6, 2019, Tan Ruoyi from Chongqing, China, won the third place at the Global Finals of 2019 Miss World Tourism in Qingdao, Shandong. Known as one of the three major beauty contests in the world, Miss World Tourism Competition is an international tourism culture ambassador selection activity, which aims to promote the mutual exchange and cooperation of tourism culture among countries. Tan Ruoyi is from Wanzhou, Chongqing. She graduated from the Department of Broadcasting & Hosting Arts of Meishi Film Academy in Chongqing University in 2018. Before she broke her record and got the third place of Miss World Tourism, she had already won the champion of Miss Chongqing and the champion of Miss World Tourism in China.
