On December 30, 2021, the 34th Golden Rooster Award Ceremony was held at Xiamen Strait Grand Theatre in Fujian province. A total of 185 films were submitted for the Golden Rooster Awards. The ceremony set up 20 regular awards and 1 special award, and 44 films were nominated. Alumni of Meishi Film Academy of Chongqing University also presented their works at the Golden Rooster Award Ceremony.

Nominated for best screenwriter -- Pioneer, Zhang Ke is one of the screenwriters of this film. He got Bacherlor’s degree and Master’s degree from Meishi Film Academy of Chongqing University, and is a part-time masters’ tutor of the Academy currently. Pioneer was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Art, Best Music, Best Editing, and won the Best Art Design of the Golden Rooster Award.

Best Documentary --One Day When We Were Young, directed by Xu Bei, a well-known documentary producer and part-time masters’ tutor of Meishi Film Academy of Chongqing University, and shot by Wu Xu, a alumnus who graduated in 2002 of the Academy.

Three Ants, which directed by Yuan Haitao , won the Top Ten Young Directors of the Cross-Strait, Hong Kong and Macao Youth Short Film Season of Golden Rooster Award. Yuan Haitao was graduated from Meishi Film Academy in 2013. Furthermore, Zhao Hu, associate professor of the Department of Performance of Meishi Film Academy, acted the leading role in the film, and Yang Shuai, an alumnus who graduated from the undergraduate major of photography and the graduate major of film of Meishi Film Academy, took the role of photographer.
